Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Achieve With Andrea is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Webinar Description:  An overview of the underrepresented issue of disenfranchised reproductive experiences such as pregnancy, child loss, and pregnancy loss in the context of human trafficking and the commercial sex industry. Training will equip service providers with essential knowledge about this topic and address the impact that the stigmatized nature of this problem has on survivor clients. After reviewing key terminology and examples of documented scenarios of marginalized reproductive events, we will explore potential trauma-informed attitudes and actions that service providers can incorporate into their practice to provide competent, meaningful support to those struggling with this issue along with informing their colleagues on this taboo topic.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Define key terms and concepts related to disenfranchised pregnancy and child loss

  • Review current information on similar subjects, as well as gaps in research that impact the treatment of survivors of human trafficking and the commercial sex industry

  • Address common misconceptions about marginalized reproductive experiences

  • Provide suggestions for viewing disenfranchised pregnancy and child loss through a trauma-informed lens

  • Empower participants with practical tools to support clients in healing from these experiences, advocate for increased representation of this issue in anti-trafficking spaces, and inform colleagues on this issue
