Webinar Description:  A foundational training for mental health practitioners to assist them in working with clients at all stages of parenthood who identify as survivors. This training will provide an overview of perinatal mental health, foundational knowledge around trauma experienced by survivors, and how these two subjects intersect. Trainees will also discuss and learn about trauma-informed care.

Attendees will be able to:

  1. Deepen understanding of the intersection of trauma and parental mental health in survivors of sex trafficking.

  2. Provide practical strategies and trauma-informed interventions for working with members of this population.

  3. Discuss ethical considerations and self-care practices for clinicians

About the Presenter

Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with a master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling and endeavors to create a welcoming, open space for everyone she works with. Emily is also training to become a full-spectrum doula. She works to provide trauma-informed and survivor-centered care to YAMT community members as the Wellness Coordinator. Over the past five years, Emily has worked in different mental health settings, specializing in working with LGBTQIA+ people, survivors of trauma, and perinatal populations.

When she is not working, she can be found at your local movie theater or library or spending time with her pets.
